Represented Candidate

Property Recruiter | Proven Cold-Desk Builder | £150k Biller

Location

London — City / Central

01

The Profile

Entering recruitment at a young age, the subsequent years have included more moves than would ordinarily be ideal. There is, however, a degree of self-awareness about that history which is important to understanding the candidate now.

Some early career decisions were made too quickly. One move followed a difficult management relationship; another business subsequently ran into financial difficulties. There was even an attempt to work independently which proved commercially more successful than operationally sensible.

What those experiences have demonstrated is both what this recruiter can do and what is needed to do it consistently.

Most recently, the candidate was brought into a start-up operation with little existing presence in private-sector property and established a desk from effectively zero. That meant genuine recruitment graft: identifying and cold-calling prospective clients, leveraging an existing network, generating vacancies, building repeat relationships and then delivering against them.

Current market experience covers Property Management, Estates Management, FM & Maintenance, particularly within high-end residential and Build-to-Rent developments. Typical appointments include Building Managers, Estate Managers, Maintenance Managers, Concierge and Front-of-House personnel.

Personal billings reached approximately £150k last year.

Earlier, an attempt at running an independent recruitment operation generated approximately £100k despite having virtually none of the infrastructure normally associated with a recruitment business. Ultimately, working alone was neither enjoyable nor the right environment for development, an experience which has helped shape what the candidate is looking for now.

There is a strong and potentially portable client and candidate network, particularly across LinkedIn, and business development is a genuine strength. Clients tend to respond well personally and relationships generate repeat work.

The candidate would be the first to acknowledge that the last five years have involved too much movement and not enough consolidation. The objective now isn't another ambitious-sounding title or another opportunity to build something alone.

It's to join a good business, with good people and strong management, settle, continue learning and turn evident commercial ability into a much more consistent long-term career.

03

Ideal Seat

A property-related recruitment desk within a recognised and reputable London recruitment business.

Open across Property, Property Management, Estates Management, FM, Asset Management and adjacent property disciplines where there is a sensible fit with existing experience.

The precise market is less important than the platform.

The ideal opportunity provides:

  • An established or warm desk
  • Strong existing property recruiters to work alongside
  • A respected manager the candidate can learn from and buy into
  • An established London market reputation
  • Good recruitment infrastructure
  • A collaborative, office-based environment
  • Scope to develop into a consistently strong individual biller

This could be a specialist property recruitment company or a broader Built Environment recruiter with a credible, established property division.

The immediate ambition is refreshingly straightforward: join somewhere good, stay, develop and earn well.

04

Expectations

£35,000 basic salary + commission

Not seeking an inflated salary or title.

London City / Central preferred and comfortable working five days per week in the office.

The priority is the quality of the business, manager and surrounding team rather than maximum flexibility.

Looking for an employer prepared to look beyond a somewhat fragmented early CV and assess the underlying evidence: business development ability, client relationships, desk-building experience and £150k production coupled with considerably more awareness today about what is required to turn that potential into consistency.
