- £38,000+ + commission to 35% + quarterly bonus
- CONSTRUCTION
- PERMANENT
- CAREER GROWTH
You've proved you can recruit. Now put yourself somewhere that gives you more to work with.
- More clients.
- Better infrastructure.
- Established PSLs.
- Stronger training.
- More experienced recruiters around you.
- And somewhere for your career to actually go.
This opportunity isn't live because somebody has left a desk behind. It's live because one of London's largest independent Built Environment recruitment businesses is continuing to grow and there is enough opportunity across its Construction markets to add another experienced permanent recruiter.
There is an immediate opportunity within Residential Construction , but the business is deliberately flexible. If you know Construction recruitment, can demonstrate that you can bill and bring genuine market knowledge with you, they'll look at where your experience can create the most value.
02
The Firm
Established for more than 15 years, this is one of the larger independent recruitment businesses specialising in Construction and the wider Built Environment.
Its permanent Construction team alone comprises around 12 consultants , recruiting across:
- Residential
- Commercial
- Main Contracting
- Fit-Out
- Civil Engineering
That scale matters. You aren't joining a generalist recruitment company with one person who happens to cover Construction. You'll sit alongside recruiters who understand the same clients, projects, candidates and market dynamics that you do.
The business has longstanding relationships across the industry, including existing terms and PSL agreements with leading contractors , supported by an extensive candidate base and the systems and infrastructure needed to make those relationships commercially useful.
It's a busy, open-plan environment where recruitment is very much a team sport. People share market intelligence, celebrate success, socialise together and compete but you're surrounded by people who understand what a good Construction recruiter actually does.
03
Who This Suits
A permanent Construction recruiter with at least two years' agency experience and a current billing profile of approximately £100,000+ .
Your precise Construction niche can vary. Experience across Residential, Commercial, Main Contracting, Fit-Out, Civils or a closely related market could all be relevant.
You've already demonstrated that you can recruit, develop relationships and generate revenue. You don't need to arrive as the finished article.
You may actually be wondering how much better you could perform if some of the obstacles around you disappeared.
Perhaps your current firm doesn't have the PSL access you need. Maybe the database and systems make your job harder rather than easier. Perhaps training stopped after your first few months and you've largely had to figure the rest out yourself.
Or you've become a decent biller but can already see that the structure above you leaves very little room to progress.
You might even be working for a smaller business where cash flow restricts investment, hiring, technology or the speed at which your desk can grow.
This is for somebody who has already proved they have ability but wants a stronger platform on which to use it.
04
The Role
There is an immediate opportunity to develop a Construction permanent desk (in any area) , with established client relationships, terms, PSL access and candidate infrastructure already around you.
But the business isn't hiring rigidly around one vacancy. Continued growth and strong client demand mean there is scope to add experienced recruiters across several of its core Construction markets.
So where possible, the opportunity can be shaped around what you already know .
You won't be expected simply to sit back and service jobs. You'll take the relationships, client access, candidate network and infrastructure already available and apply your own market knowledge, networking and business development to make the desk your own.
And you'll have experienced support around you while you do it.
DEVELOPMENT THAT DOESN'T STOP BECAUSE YOU'RE EXPERIENCED
One of the more interesting aspects of this business is its approach to experienced hires. It doesn't assume that because somebody has been recruiting for two, three or five years, they've necessarily been taught everything well.
Different agencies create very different recruiters.
So you'll receive an in-depth training and development programme tailored around where you are now, identifying gaps created by previous environments while developing the skills you're already strong in.
You'll also work with a deeply connected, highly practical manager who understands the Construction recruitment market and can help translate development into what actually happens on your desk.
The aim isn't to teach an experienced recruiter how to recruit all over again. It's to work out what could make you better.
WHERE IT CAN LEAD
With around 12 consultants already operating across permanent Construction, this is a business with enough scale to create genuine career paths.
There are structured opportunities to progress through senior individual-contributor levels and into management and leadership for people with the performance and appetite to take that route.
As the company continues its aggressive growth, those opportunities aren't dependent purely on waiting for somebody above you to leave. The business is creating new teams and capacity as it expands.
So if you've reached the point where your current company can offer you a new title but not much more opportunity, this provides considerably more room to move.
05
The Rewards
Basic salary around £38,000+ , depending on experience and current profile.
Commission rises to 35% , with a relatively low £5,000 threshold , alongside quarterly bonuses linked to personal performance .
For experienced recruiters moving an established billing profile, commission guarantees are available for the first quarter and potentially up to two quarters , depending on proven current earnings and the desk you're moving into.
There are also international incentives, regular rewards and a highly social environment where success is recognised and celebrated.
The working pattern is four days from the London City office and one day from home .
But the proposition here isn't really about one commission percentage or incentive trip. It's about removing some of the things that may currently be putting a ceiling on your performance.
- Established PSLs and terms.
- Top-tier Construction clients.
- A strong candidate network.
- Proper systems and infrastructure.
- Ongoing training and development.
- An experienced, connected manager.
- Around 12 permanent Construction recruiters working alongside you.
- And genuine room to progress as the business grows.
You still have to build your desk. They just give you considerably more to build it with.
