Overview

  • Divisional Manager - Data Centres
  • London Central
  • Up to £60,000 + personal commission + management bonus
  • Two recruiters.
  • Live UK & European clients.
  • A specialist market ready to scale.

Your brief is to build the division to ten.

This isn't an opportunity to arrive with a business plan and spend the next six months proving there's a market. The Data Centre desk already exists. Two permanent consultants are already billing around £12,000 per month each , established PSL relationships are producing live vacancies across the UK and Europe, and the business already recruits for developers, main contractors and specialist MEP contractors delivering Data Centre projects.

What's missing is the person to lead it.

The ambition is to grow the existing team into a ten-person specialist division over the next 2 3 years , expand its reach internationally and create a business capable of generating a clear route to Directorship, and potentially equity, for the person who builds it.

02

The Firm

An established Built Environment recruitment business operating from offices in Central London, with an existing reputation and client base across specialist construction and engineering markets.

Its Data Centre practice focuses specifically on the physical infrastructure required to design, build, commission and operate mission-critical facilities . This is not IT recruitment.

The team recruits across the construction and engineering disciplines behind Data Centres including design, MEP & Building Services, electrical infrastructure, mechanical and specialist cooling, controls/BMS, commissioning and construction delivery .

Current appointments include roles such as:

  • Mechanical Contracts Manager
  • Electrical Project Manager
  • Project Manager - Retrofit
  • Construction Manager
  • Site Supervisor

The client base spans Data Centre developers, main contractors and specialist MEP contractors , with established PSL positions and live permanent vacancies across both the UK and Europe.

  • The market exists.
  • The clients exist.
  • The beginnings of the team exist.
  • The next stage needs a leader.

03

Who This Suits

Ideally, an experienced Data Centre recruitment manager who already understands the Mission Critical market and can see the scale of the opportunity.

Data Centre experience isn't essential. A strong recruitment leader from MEP, Building Services, Construction, Engineering or another Mission Critical environment could bring highly transferable market knowledge.

Someone who has already managed or mentored recruiters and enjoys developing people, but isn't looking to stop recruiting themselves.

You'll remain a hands-on biller , leading from the front while developing the consultants around you.

You need to be commercially ambitious. The brief isn't to maintain a two-person desk. It's to turn an established foothold into a significant specialist division.

This particularly suits someone who has already demonstrated they can lead and bill, but wants more ownership over what they're building and wants the financial and career upside to grow with it.

04

The Role

From day one, you'll become the clear leader of the existing two-person Data Centre team.

Both consultants focus on permanent recruitment and currently bill approximately £12,000 per month each . You'll inherit active UK and European client relationships, established PSL positions and live requirements across developers, main contractors and MEP contractors.

Your first job is to improve and grow what's already there.

You'll continue developing your own client relationships and personal billings while coaching the existing consultants, increasing productivity, deepening client penetration and identifying where the division should expand next.

Then you'll build.

The plan is to grow the practice from two consultants to approximately ten over the next 2 3 years , adding capability and market coverage as the division develops.

There is also scope to take the business geographically beyond its existing UK and European footprint, including developing a US Data Centre recruitment offering .

And there is another obvious opportunity sitting within the existing model.

Today, the Data Centre team is 100% permanent . Despite recruiting for clients delivering major construction and engineering projects, there is currently no freelance/contract offering .

For a commercially minded leader who understands that market, that represents another significant avenue for growth.

05

The Rewards

Basic salary up to £60,000

You'll continue to earn personal commission of up to 35% with zero threshold on your own billings

Additional benefits package including: private healthcare, pension and gym membership.

Hybrid working pattern: four days from the London office and one day from home .

Alongside that sits a management bonus calculated as a percentage of the revenue generated by the team you lead , meaning your earnings increasingly reflect the business you build around you, not simply your own desk.

And the progression is unusually clear.

Build a team producing £500,000 in annual revenue and the route opens to Associate Director .

Grow that to £750,000 and the progression moves to Director .

Beyond that, there is a genuine opportunity to earn equity , structured around agreed annual revenue milestones achieved over a three-year period.

So the proposition is bigger than taking over two recruiters.

It's an opportunity to take an existing specialist market with clients, PSLs, live vacancies and revenue already in place, and build the business around it.

  • Two recruiters today.
  • Ten is the plan.
  • UK and Europe today.
  • The US is there to be developed.
  • Permanent today.
  • Contract remains untapped.

And for the person capable of turning that potential into revenue, the route leads beyond management to Directorship and potentially ownership .
